Alternators

Alternators are the unit that generators electrical power when turned by the power of an engine.  Their size is specified in kilowatts (kW). Unless otherwise specified, they generate alternating current at 60 Hz. Some produce single phase power; others produce three phase power; some can be wire for either. Finally, the sales sheet will specify the voltage output options.
