Frequently Asked Questions about
Professional Engine Systems

We have compiled some of the most frequently asked questions about Professional Engine Systems.

Q: How long has the company been around?
A: Professional Engine Systems was founded in 1986 by Paul Hendricks. It started with four people in a rented location, but moved to the current site in 1988, expanding and remodeling the building in 1993.

Q: What are the company's plans for the future?
A: The economy in 2008 and 2009 made doing business a challenge. Nevertheless, Professional Engine Systems  survived that period and continued to find new markets for our products and services. We also took that time to restructure many aspects of our operation, implementing an integrated computer system for manage our inventory, service, billing, and accounting. This internal website was designed to supplement that integrated computer system with the other information that we need to function at peak efficiency.

Our plan is to grow over the next few years, building on our expertise in power generation equipment to get into alternative energy generation such as wind turbines and solar panels. Government initiatives make these more attractive investments, and Professional Engine Systems can bring expertise to these issues that most of the small companies just getting into this field cannot provide. We will not be abandoning our core business of on-site and backup power generation, which is still a growth area as the importance of power grows and the electrical grid continues to be stretched to the limit of its capacity.

Q: What do we see as our core business?
A: Our core business is power generation, which includes all of the equipment that is required for such generation (engines, generators, radiators, and so on). The skills that we have in servicing and rebuilding such equipment are valuable in many other contexts. So we anticipate that we will continue to service and rebuild engines, radiators, and other equipment. This diversification will help us through tough economic times, when our ability to rebuild equipment for a fraction of the cost of replacing the equipment will be in high demand.
